Why Your Google Business Profile Is Not Showing in Maps
The real reasons a verified Google Business Profile does not appear in the map pack, how proximity and categories decide it, and what you can actually change.

A café closes at 2 PM for a staff event. At 3 PM a regular arrives after seeing its usual hours online. The fastest way to avoid that trip is to change the information customers use to decide whether to leave home.
Give one person responsibility for a simple table with the location, date, opening window and closure status. Use the hours customers can physically visit. If the shop is open but the kitchen, pickup desk or phone line has a different cutoff, say so where customers make that decision.
Google's special hours instructions explain how to record temporary changes to your regular hours. Open the relevant Business Profile, edit special hours and confirm the dates. Check the date and location before saving. On a public Maps or Search view, inspect the result after the edit has had time to appear.
A changed listing can still send visitors to an active booking calendar. Block staff availability for the closure, update any landing page running a seasonal offer, and check the voicemail if callers rely on it. A useful message gives the next opening date and explains whether online requests will be answered during the closure.
For businesses with multiple locations, have each manager verify their listing and booking link. After the holiday, remove temporary notices from the site and confirm regular hours are still correct. Keep the table for the next exception and refer to our Google Business Profile checklist for the other details customers see.
